Based in Highbridge, Somerset, I’m Jean-Luke — a part-time blacksmith with a lifelong passion for working with my hands. By trade, I’m a plumber, but blacksmithing has become a craft I’ve pursued alongside my day job for several years now.
Growing up, I was always drawn to making things. My dad, a keen woodworker with his own workshop, inspired me from an early age. I spent many hours tinkering with his tools and learning by helping — an experience that still shapes my approach to every project, whether brilliant or a bit questionable!
In my own small workshop, I create handcrafted pieces at my own pace, always striving to finish each project to the best of my ability. I'm constantly learning, improving my techniques, and building up the tools I need to take on new challenges. Every item I make carries a bit of that journey — a mix of curiosity, craftsmanship, and a stubborn determination to see it through.
I plan to add a photo of myself here, but after way too much time spending looking I've released 3 things:
I have almost no photos of just myself (I suppose I managed to avoid the selfie sickness)
My workshop is in a perpetual state of working mess, and is far far from photogenic.
Most importantly, I can not find anything I'm happy with. This business is an absolute passion of mine, and nothing i have meets my standard as of yet.
I will upload a photo here soon, I just need some time to find the right opportunity.
